  5. Clearly this guy missed the interview where Boon said there would be cameo fighters from EVERY era of the franchise.
    So that means:

    The Arcade era (MK1-3)
    The 3D era (MK4, Deadly Alliance, Deception, Armageddon , MK vs DC)
    The Story/Timeline era (MK9, X, 11)

    Obviously there is plenty of crossover in the rosters, so if you wanted to narrow it down, you first remove the characters already confirmed.
    Then you single out characters that made a first appearance in that title.

    So for MK 4, the characters who made a first (playable) appearance in the series were:
    Tanya, Reiko, Fujin, Kai, Jarek, Quan Chi and Shinnok.

    Quan Chi and Shinnok are the most likely to appear in the game as they hold a significant place in the story. However they appear in many titles and I feel like the MK4 spot would probably go to one of the other characters.

    Fujin and Reiko are next as far as likeliness goes, as they are the fan favorites of this game and era.

    Tanya and her ties to Edenia, Shinnok and Outworld make her more likely to appear IMO.

    Jarek has been reduced to little more than a joke due to his ending in MK4. Sonia, Jax and Jarek share an ending. Unless your throwing him off a cliff, I dont see him in the game at all.

    Kai is one of the least known characters in the history of the franchise, even Jarek is remembered more than Kai. He was so disliked that MK4 is his only appearance other than Armageddon (everyone was playable in Armageddon)
    However due to Kai's relationship with Liu Kang and the Shaolin Monks, I could see him making an appearance in the Story Mode in a cutscene or background, but even a cameo is unlikely due to his unpopularity.
